Goodwood Racecourse Facilities

Facilities at the Goodwood Estate range from the famed Goodwood Park Hotel to private and public enclosures, to literally dozens of bars and restaurants which more than adequately cover the tastes and needs of all the spectators and pundits who gather at the event each year in July/August.

The Enclosures

During the five days of Glorious Goodwood the Richmond Enclosure is for members only, and this is where the Panama Hats, Pimms and Veuve Cliquot bubbly is so very evident. Only the cream of British Society will be seen at this venue, and there is a strict dress code for those fortunate enough to hobnob with high society. The enclosure has two stands, the March Stand, aptly named after the Earl of Marsh, the current host of the event, and the 11th Duke of Richmond in waiting; and the Charlton Stand. The other advantage of the Richmond Enclosure is its direct access to the winner’s enclosure and the Parade Ring. There is a full range of betting facilities available including individual bookmakers and William Hill betting shops at the March Stand.
The Gordon Enclosure is the largest enclosure at Goodwood and has a more informal, pubby atmosphere. It too has access to The Paddock which includes the winner’s enclosure and the Parade Ring. The Sussex Stand within the enclosure can seat 560 fans and has standing room for about another 2 500. Again there is a full variety of betting facilities within the enclosure.
The Lennox Enclosure is the public enclosure and offers great views of the home straight towards the Winning Post. There are no fancy restaurants but a number of pubs and fast food facilities are available, and all the bookmakers are situated throughout the enclosure.
Hospitality Experiences

Apart from the dozens of restaurants, pubs and food outlets, the organisers have put together three exclusive hospitality packages which exude the elegance and charm of Glorious Goodwood:

Prestige Experience – offers either a four-course luncheon or a three-course buffet with a fully inclusive bar including champagne and spirits. Full afternoon tea will also be served and included in the price are two patron membership badges which allow entry to all Goodwood summer meetings excluding the week of Glorious Goodwood.
Select Experience – offers a choice of either a three-course sit down lunch or a 2-course buffet. Bar service will only include wines, beer and soft drinks and a ‘cream tea’ will be served later in the day.
Celebration Experience – offers a Bucks Fizz reception and either a three-course luncheon or a 2-course buffet. Each person will also receive half a bottle of wine and half a bottle of mineral water. A celebration cake rounds of the day.
Each ‘Experience’ includes exclusive hire of the private box in the Richmond Enclosure, a Richmond Enclosure Badge, reserved parking, coffee and pastries on arrival, a racecard and tote and TV facilities nearby. For 2010 prices, please go to our tickets page.
